SHIP

Ship is a four letter word.

I was hesitant to see the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, mostly because I found the second and third installments long, boring, dull stories with only brief flashes of wit and action.  I'm pretty sure I fell asleep during the third movie, so I can't even quite tell you what it was about.  But my viewing of Cars 2 was actually a double feature, with Pirates 4 the second billed movie, so I figured I might as well stay and watch.

I'm glad I did.  Pirates 4 far exceeded my expectations, and was actually a pleasant and fun romp.  With good balances of action, comedy, and romance - none of it was over the top or absurd.  The plot was coherent and fun, there were plenty of clever bits and turns, and excellent acting all around.

It was even good enough to get me to consider watching the inevitable Pirates 5 when it comes out.
